ColdFusion 8 in the Press

April 23, 2008 4:31 PM

In case you missed it, Ben and I were interviewed in March by Paul Krill at InfoWorld. You can see the article here: Adobe ColdFusion warming to 64-bit OSes. CF is hot stuff - the article was picked up by several other publications shortly after:

- Digital Arts Online

- TamilStar.com
- TechWorld
- Webwereld (Netherlands)

Great read. I'd love to see Adobe show some support towards Ubuntu. While they are really pushing the desktop - they DO have a server version and are pushing it more and more... Sun recently announced they would start supporting Ubuntu ...

Hi Jim,

You are very likely to see that for CF in a future release.

Sweet! So will this "future release" have single or double digits? :)

"Centaur"...is this the code name for CF 9? CF 8.5? Any hints as to upcoming features? AIR support? <cfair>..now that's a tag I'd love to see :)

Hi Chris,

Centaur is the "next *major* release of CF". We're not officially allowed to name it until its commercially available. They key word is major though. ;)

Come to one of the conferences this spring to see some sneak peaks of Centaur (e.g. CFunited).
We're in the planning phase still so its too early to talk publicly about what we're thinking. Integration with other Adobe technologies is always looked at very seriously though.
