And the winner is...

January 27, 2008 2:53 PM

I acknowledge that those of you who played to win, spent considerable time on your mock-ups so a big THANK YOU for your time on it. Hopefully this gave the non-designers of the group a chance to see your creative side and learn something new. (drum roll) The winner of my blog redesign contest is *David McGuigan* for his elegant and unique design. David's design is clean, simple, monochromatic and edgy with defined lines and space. (No, that is not me in the picture ;) People think it is.) Can't wait to have the new design up and running, David. :)

The Winner

I also want to note the following runners-up because I quite liked their designs as well - made me wish I could use them all..

- Dave from Jamwerx for entry. I like your use of shading, the picture placeholder along the top and some of the cool effects.

- Tjarko for entry. Your entry is also clean, nice flickr feature and I really like how you parse out the sections. Colors are good too.

Thanks to everyone else who submitted. I was about to list your names but fear forgetting someone. I enjoyed reading your submissions.

- Kristen

That is a VERY NICE design, David. I'm jealous. That little voice in the back of my head is saying "go ahead and pinch that design. no one will notice..." while the other voice is saying "dont you dare you're not a thief!"

I like the graduated backgrounds, and i like how it ties together with the Adobe site, since it's an Adobe topic blog.

Lovely work!

What happens when you have a long blog entry? Does the girl's face image move down to the bottom?

Just browsing through. I find it hard to read white on dark backgrounds. Though I do like the layout.

This one (http://feeds.feedburner.com/KristenSchofieldsBlog) does not return any thing. And this is the one you are linking to on the right side of the website.

This one works fine:
